"Demon Copperhead" by Barbara Kingsolver
The book club will take a breather in December and get back to business in January with this award-winning, Dickens-inspired tale. Kingsolver draws parallels between an impoverished kid in 20th-century Appalachia and the London trials of the young David Copperfield, exploring themes of addiction, child exploitation, and self creation.
