Private Tour: Baths Of Diocletian and Santa Maria degli Angeli

Visit the greatest bath complex of Ancient Rome, built between AD298 and 306 and a significant social and cultural hub. An unmissable journey through monumental Roman architecture.• Wander through the interconnected halls of the largest bath complex in Rome, able to accommodate over 3,000 people with beautiful gardens.

• Visit another of the works of Michelangelo, designed at the age of 86, with the transformation of part of the baths into the Church and Charterhouse of Santa Maria degli Angeli in Michelangelo’s cloister.  
• Discover the history of the written word in the Museum of Written Communication, and marvel at 20,000 objects of ancient inscriptions.

Our guide was born in Rome where she studied at La Sapienza University to become an Archaeologist.  She also has a Bachelor’s in History and Conservation of the Artistic Heritage and a Master’s in Early Christian Architecture. She’s been working as an Authorized Guide of Rome since 2001. She cooperates with important travel companies offering high level cultural tours and collaborates as a tour guide with CIEE and CEA Study Abroad as well as the US Embassy.  You may remember her as our tour guide from our tour of Palazzo Colonna and Doria Pamphilj Palace.

When: Saturday, November 8 at 9:30 am (the tour is 2 – 2.5 hours)

Where: Meet in front of church of Santa Maria degli Angeli, Via Cernaia 9 (a short walk from Termini Station)

Cost: 35 Euros (includes ticket, tour guide and headsets). No refunds but ticket transferable to another member/guest with prior notification to activities@awar.org. Please bring a few euros if you’d like to offer a tip to our guide at the end of the tour. This is optional.

Register and pay online by November 3. Minimum of 15 people, maximum of 25. Guests welcome.
