Join AWAR member Julia Griner and Serpone Art Foundation’s Christin Pettibone at her outdoor sculpture park in Torrita Tiberina for a morning of art and nature, followed by a light aperitivo. Explore the Permanent Collection of the Fondazione Serpone with site-specific installations by major international artists, such as Mimmo Paladino, Jannis Kounellis, Gian Maria Tosatti and others alongside two rarities in the world of contemporary art: the Hermann Nitsch Art Chapel and the Shozo Shimamoto Monument to Happiness. The contemporary art on view is in complete harmony with nature in this park that overlooks the Tiber River Valley.

At the end of the one hour experience there will be a refreshing aperitivo poolside. Lunch will be at a typical Sabine restaurant nearby. Kids and families welcome!

Cost: 20€ per person ages 14 and up, 5€ per child (cost of aperitivo). Lunch will be à la carte pricing according to what you choose.

We're in search of the best carbonara in Rome, and if we have to eat 100 plates of pasta to find the one, well, we're willing to make that sacrifice. Join us for dinner on the first Thursday of every month (this month, it's been pushed a week for a scheduling conflict), each time at a different restaurant, and we'll get to the bottom of it together.

Join AWAR member Julia Griner on the upper Tiber River at Poggio Mirteto / Torrita Tiberina for a morning of boating! Families are welcome. Children up to 15 must be accompanied by an adult. Spend an hour or two in group accompanied by a guide in a 2-person canoe and enjoy the flora & fauna of the Tevere Basin. If you are not interested in boating there are bikes to rent and a trail to walk. If neither of these appeals, there is a large lawn on which you can lay a blanket and soak up the sun and enjoy our company, nature and a day out of Rome.

Lunch can be at Ecofattorie Sabina, an all local, organic restaurant a short walk away OR we can plan a Pizza Picnic - details and a decision when we have a confirmed group.

Cost: 25€ per adult, free for children 4-9 accompanied by parents and 15€ for kids 10-14

Calling all pasta lovers, we will “cook the book” using Meryl Feinstein’s 2023 cookbook, Pasta Every Day (named a 2023 Best Cookbook of the Year by The New York Times, Bon Appetit, Vice, and the Los Angeles Times). This isn't a class! It’s a fun and convivial way to get together and explore great pasta recipes.

We'll meet once per month, generally the second Saturday of the month, beginning on Saturday, March 9 from 11 am to 2 pm. We'll cook and then enjoy our creation for lunch! 

Please register on the website or through the app. The group is limited to 10 people and we'll divide any minor costs incurred during the event. Wendy's house is located outside of the center, off of Via Flaminia Nuova. Exact address to follow.
